I don't recommend this product for use on a metal tub or metal drain on a tub. I found the product to be ineffective for removing light rust on my metal tub and for the chrome fixture drain on the tub it corroded and caused the chrome to dissipate when used with the all purpose cleaning scrubber, leaving the fixture with only the original primer left on the metal - not like the before and after pictures showing chrome fixtures rusty and then shiny after using the product - hence the poor rating. I waited until I used the product a few times before writing this review.

Not what it says it can do

Don’t waste your money! Product is useless!

The product contains a grit so it can't be used on all sufaces, but worked well for my intended use. The brushes seem to be good quality and do a good job when used with a cordless drill. I suggust, though, you use it with an extention to keep the brush further from the tool.

This stain remover works on some surfaces better than others. I don't think there's something suitable for every stain, so this works well enough for the surfaces I needed (bathroom tub and sink).

I'm not sure what is in this hard water stain remover, but I feel like vinegar could work just as well. I used it in my shower on the chrome and while it brightened up the chrome, I still saw remnants of water spots. The water where I live is hard, like rocks might come out of the shower head, hard. I will admit that it would take a lot to impress me here.

This set comes with a 16 oz bottle of stain remover and scrub cloth. The stain remover can be used on Hard water Stains, Calcium, Lime, and Rust. I used the cleaner on a regular sponge and it didn't do as great a job as it did when I used the scrub cloth. It was able to clean the soap scum off my glass door, tiled wall, and chrome fixture without any harsh scrubbing required. I have not yet tried to use it on calcium, rust, or lime stains. I wish the bottle came with a spray nozzle instead of just an open pour bottle to make dispensing it a little easier.

We live in the country and use well water. Even though we have a salt water softener, we still get lots of calcium and hard water buildup on the glass shower doors. We’ve tried lots of products, but that dirty-looking haze continues to build up. With this Crown Choice product, you get 1 16-oz. bottle of liquid cleaner, and 1 scrub cloth. That clears up some confusion in the product description, which says you get 2 bottles, with “cloths,” plural. Nope. According to our experience, you get 1 of each. We put on rubber gloves, pour some liquid onto the scratchy “cloth,” and apply. We let it sit a few minutes, then scrub some more. Once we’re sure the glass is clean, we rinse out the cloth with fresh warm water, and scrub again. It does take some elbow grease to get it right down to the clear glass. This is not a magic bullet, but it helps with a difficult job. One other confusion on this product page: there are two separate choices of product, both for the same price. However, the product shot shows the same liquid bottle with the same label in both choices, so we think they’re the same. And another thing. The bottle label warns not to get this on metal surfaces including aluminum. Well, our shower doors are framed in aluminum, so we do our best not to get the liquid on the frames, and if we do, we rinse right away.
